Volunteering at the Library

At Troy-Miami County Public Library, volunteers are a vital part of our mission to provide free access to knowledge, resources, and programs for everyone. Whether you're looking to give back, earn service hours, or just love spending time at the library, we have a variety of ways you can get involved.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering at the library is a great way to:

  • Support literacy and lifelong learning
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • Meet new people who share your interests
  • Earn community service hours for school or programs
  • Give back to your local community in a meaningful way

Volunteer Roles May Include:

  • Assisting with library programs and events (background check required for children’s and teen programs)
  • Preparing crafts and materials for story times
  • Greeting patrons and giving tours
  • Helping with special projects
  • Light clerical tasks (cutting, sorting, data entry, etc.)
  • Helping with organizational projects
  • Cleaning books and DVDs

Please note that tasks may vary depending on library needs and volunteer interests.
