Troy-Miami County Public Library, Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library, and the Troy Local History Library have recently upgraded their wireless networks. The upgrade consists of all new wireless access points; including the addition of new Wi-Fi access points in the Troy Main library meeting rooms and the second-floor meeting room at the Pleasant Hill library. The quality of the Wi-Fi will allow patrons faster, more secure access to the internet from all areas of the library, including the meeting rooms.
No Talent for Art? No Problem! Adults and teens are invited to Troy-Miami County Public Library on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. for Bad Art Night. Unleash your inner awful artist and unwind by making some really bad or even really good art, all supplies will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to the good, the bad, and the downright ugly artwork of the night. Registration is required and available online beginning November 16, 2017.
THE BIG READ BOOK FOR 2018: The Underdogs by Melissa Fay Greene
Miami Valley readers have cast their votes and chosen the next book for the Big Read community reading project. The winner is The Underdogs: Children, Dogs and the Power of Unconditional Love, by Melissa Fay Greene. This nonfiction book tells the story of the founding of 4 Paws For Ability, a nonprofit organization based in Xenia, Ohio, that trains and places service dogs internationally.
