The holiday season is here, and the Troy-Miami County Public Library has a schedule full of fun, learning, and family-friendly activities! From hands-on activities to festive celebrations and brain-boosting programs, there’s something for everyone.
December Program Highlights:
Glow Storytime – Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers can enjoy stories and songs in the dark with glow sticks on Tuesday, December 2 at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m. Glow sticks are provided for this magical sensory experience.
Wits Workout – Get your brain in shape this holiday season! Join for word puzzles, logic games, and brain “workouts” led by Alisha Barton of the Ohio State University Extension, Miami County. Sessions are Wednesdays, December 3, 10, and 17 from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Perfect for adults, no registration is required.
Holiday Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge – Bring your family or friends, dress in festive gear, and race to complete a 300-piece puzzle on Saturday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. Teams of 3–4 will compete for a special prize. Registration opens November 22 at https://tmcpl.libcal.com/event/15605966.
Gingerbread House Workshop: A Holiday STEAM Event – Put on your construction hats and come ready to build, design and decorate a gigerbread house with your family on Tuesday, December 9, from 4–7 p.m. All supplies are provided thanks to C. Hinbes Builders. No registration required.
STEAM: Cookie Archaeology Challenge – Kids in grades K–5 can drop in on Monday, December 22, from 1–4 p.m. to excavate candy and chocolate chips from cookies using real archaeologist-style tools—and then enjoy eating their findings!
DIY Holiday Cards – Drop in to make festive holiday cards for friends and family on Wednesday, December 17, from 3–4 p.m. All materials are provided. Teens and adults are welcome!
Novelicious: Holiday Edition – Join a festive book discussion featuring A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens on Wednesday, December 17, at 11:30 a.m. Enjoy treats and conversation in this seasonal gathering for adults. No registration required.
