The Troy-Miami County Public Library is celebrating a remarkable milestone: 130 years of library service in the Troy community. The public is invited to join us for a special anniversary celebration on Thursday, October 15, from 5–8 p.m.
The free event will feature live music, family activities, crafts, local history, refreshments, and opportunities to explore the library’s spaces and services. The first 40 attendees will receive a commemorative lapel pin featuring the library’s special 130th-anniversary logo, while supplies last.
From 5–8 p.m., enjoy live music in the Sensory Garden featuring The Barnharts, a local trio performing original acoustic music that blends roots rock, blues, folk, and more. Guests are encouraged to bring a chair and enjoy the music in the garden.
Families can look for Happy the Clown in the Friendly Forest from 5–8 p.m., where he’ll be creating balloon fun for guests.
Ms. Holly will host a special story time at 6:30 p.m., and visitors can also enjoy rock painting and a visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Guests are invited to explore a special history display highlighting the library’s 130 years of service to the Troy community. All activities will move indoors if necessary.
Also, from 5–7 p.m., visitors can stop by the Hobart Civic Center for tours of the library’s Maker Lab and Local History & Genealogy Center. As part of the celebration, the first 50 visitors to the Maker Lab can make a custom garden flag.
