Teacher cards
The Troy-Miami County Public Library looks forward to helping teachers provide materials to enrich the students learning experience.
Teacher Card Loan Procedures
- A teacher card may be requested by a public, private, parochial or home school teacher; also, a teacher in a nursery school, pre-school, day-care or home care center.
- The teacher card is for instructional materials in the classroom.
- The teacher card must be presented to check out materials.
- The loan period of all materials is 6 weeks, except audio visual and new adult materials. Holiday books are limited in number during the season.
- Fines are not assessed to a teacher card. Overdue items may block use of the card. Notification is sent when items are 2 weeks late. A second notice is sent when materials are 4 weeks late.
- Teachers assume financial responsiblilty for lost, damaged, or defaced materials.
- A printout of a collection is available upon request.
- A collection must be returned to the agency where it was obtained.
- Collections are not renewable.
Material Collections Requests
- A teacher collection request may be made by phone, fax, e-mail or in person.
- A notice of 7 days is required for the library to compile a teacher collection.
- Multiple copies of a title are not available for request.
- The pick-up date is established when making a request. No phone or mail notification will be made. E-mail notification may be requested. Delivery of a collection may be made to the Troy City Schools through the "school pony".
- If the collection is not picked up within 5 days, the materials will be put back in the general circulation.
- The library hopes to fill all requests with the understanding that the demand of the library resources may limit the materials available.
